“WE SHALL OVERCOME!”

Seven buses from the NC Poor People’s Campaign joined thousands from 35 states on Pennsylvania Avenue to let the nation know that “WE ARE THE SWING VOTE!” Raising our voices in person and with many others online, we prayed together, sang together, heard each other’s stories, and pledged our commitment to our demands and waking the sleeping giant of poor and low-wage voters.

We thank the bus coordinators, fundraisers, bus captains, and those who texted, emailed, called, and hit the road to fill our buses. We also want to thank our many donors who enabled us to meet our fundraising goal of $31,000 for this trip. We were able to provide free bus seats and food for our passengers. We are so grateful for your support!
