NC Poor People’s Campaign members were proud to join #HandsOff marches in Raleigh and other locations throughout the state, including Asheville, Charlotte, Hickory, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem.

In Raleigh, over ten thousand gathered in the Bicentennial Plaza in front of the General Assembly. Rev. Rob Stephens, Rev. Rodney Sadler, and Sangria Noble from the NCPPC assisted and spoke from the stage, while many NCPPC members were dispersed throughout the crowd. Linda Mackenzie and Dale Herman tabled for the event, while Peter Van Dorsten signed up new members in the crowd and Samantha Turner served as a marshal. The NCPPC Coordinating Committee also helped fund the march by contributing to the stage and sound system.

In Asheville, the Western Circle of NCPPC co-sponsored a march of 7,500 in Pack Square Park.
