NCPPC Protests the NCGA’s Attacks on Voters and the Poor

Representing the North Carolina Poor People’s Campaign, Chris Nobblitt spoke outside the General Assembly:

”We’re here today to point out the mis-leadership of the majority and also the lack of leadership from our minority. We need to bring back the priorities of the poor and low-income here to the General Assembly as our priorities.

“We demand the restoration of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. We demand an end to the undermining of our local elected leadership. We demand an end to fossil fuel subsidies and the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure.”
