Bishop William J. Barber, II, president and senior lecturer of Repairers of the Breach, has been invited by North Carolina clergy to share this sermon as in these times in which we live are demanding times for a non-violent gospel that can speak to the violence and atrocities happening not only in Gaza and Palestine but across the world where God’s children are suffering from years of war and genocide. In addition to Gaza, innocent people are being killed by the thousands in Yemen, Congo, Haiti, Sudan and Somalia. How do people of moral conscience respond in word and in deed? How is the church being called to be a prophetic voice in these times? If justice-love is the heart of the gospel, how do we proclaim it today when facing war, violence, and genocide?
